National Bank donates $25,000 to the City of Clarence-Rockland

OTTAWA – January 26, 2007 – National Bank is pleased to support the City of Clarence-Rockland, Ontario in its “Building the heart of our community” fundraising campaign with a $25,000 donation.

The Bank’s contribution will enable the municipality to build a recreational and cultural centre to meet the needs of its growing population and foster cultural exchanges.

National Bank and the City of Clarence-Rockland share a common interest in the community’s well-being.  With the new centre, hundreds of students will have everyday access to a gym, pool, sports centre, auditorium and library, all under one roof.

In 2006, the Bank and its subsidiaries, through corporate donations, sponsorships, in-branch fundraising activities and various benefit events, gave $19.5 million to hundreds of Canadian education, health care, cultural and community organizations.

More information on the many causes and projects the Bank supports as part of its commitment to the community can be found in the Bank’s Social Responsibility Report on its website at www.nbc.ca
