ROCKLAND – March 30, 2007 – The City of Clarence-Rockland’s Recreational and Cultural Fundraising Campaign Cabinet is proud of the trust shown by the companies Bertrand Construction, Deloitte, Levac Robichaud Leclerc as well as Paquette Concrete Services.  The gifts were presented as following: Levac Robichaud Leclerc, $25,000, Bertrand Construction, $10,000, Deloitte, $10,000 and Paquette Concrete Services, $5,000.

“The City of Clarence-Rockland Recreational and Cultural Complex’s Fundraising Campaign has now reached another important step.  I would like to sincerely thank the companies that today, decided to join our great adventure,” mentioned Alain Potvin, Funding Campaign Co-Chair.

On March 20th, with its partners the Conseil scolaire de district catholique de l’Est ontarien, the National Capital’s YMCA-YWCA and the Public Library, the City of Clarence-Rockland proceeded with the sod turning ceremony, marking the construction start.

Less than a week later, the Honorable Jim Watson, Ontario’s Health Promotion Minister, was at the École secondaire L’Escale to give a $3 million financial contribution to the project.  These activities, combined with today’s announcements, are giving a renewed energy to our volunteers working on the fundraising campaign.
