Alain Potvin and Thomas Blais
named Fundraising Campaign Co-Chairs
ROCKLAND – September
25, 2006 – The City of Clarence-Rockland is proud to announce that
the Recreational and Cultural Complex Fundraising Campaign will be
co-chaired by Mr. Alain Potvin and Mr. Thomas Blais. With
the theme Building the heart of our community, this campaign
is sure to be very positive and motivating for everybody involved
in this great adventure.
“I am thrilled by Mr. Potvin’s and Mr. Blais’
nominations as Fundraising Campaign Co-Chairs. Mr. Potvin’s reputation
as businessman and biggest employer of the City is well-known. For
his part, Mr. Blais has been active for many years in the Desjardins
cooperative movement, while sitting on important provincial committees
and he is a great advantage for our project”, mentioned
Richard Lalonde, Mayor of the City of Clarence-Rockland.
Mr. Potvin and Mr. Blais will be supported by a group of citizens
coming from all over the municipality chosen for their respective
expertise.
These people are :
Communication Committee: Julie Chartrand,
Chantal Lalonde, Anne Lizotte, Josée Quenneville
Major Donations Division: Stéphane Langlois,
Alain Bernard, Bruce Geerts, Pierre Huot, Roxanne Chénier, Josée
Quenneville
Community Campaign: Julie Brazeau, Philippe Goudreau,
Fern Payer (other people will join this committee soon)
Treasurer: Yves Lalonde
The members of these committees are all persuaded
to reach the campaign’s objective of $4 million dollars. Already,
some people have been contacted and we will communicate positive
results shortly.
Finally, the process to find a general contractor is already in motion
and the project leads are confidant that we will proceed with the official
sod turning ceremony in early 2007.
